May 2018 - HEIL is pleased to announce that we have been awarded Certified Veteran Owned Small Business status by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The VOSB certification is offered to small businesses that are majority owned and managed by a veteran. This status allows HEIL to be a competitive participant in the US Government's Veterans First Contracting Program.

In 1999, the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act was created to offer additional assistance to veterans who own businesses. As part of this legislation, the federal government is required to award 23% of all contracts to small businesses and a VOSB certification gives veteran-owned businesses access to an additional 3% of federal government contracts and subcontracts. Though a small percentage, this equates to billions of dollars of work every year.
